RECORD STORES CAN’T SAVE YOUR LIFE. BUT THEY CAN GIVE YOU A BETTER ONE (NICK HORNBY)

Home

When it comes to buying records, I pretty much use everything the Internet has to offer at my disposal. I’ll use the record label’s webstore, the band’s store, Discogs et al for all my pre-orders, just to make sure I get a copy …but nothing really compares to a brick and mortar record shop if you ask me. In the store, you always get that chance of finding something rare (the thrill of the chase) and exciting you might not have on your radar before and, of course, you can always chat with (mostly) nice and knowledgeable owners. I am often daydreaming about quitting my day job to visit every single record shop in the world. I am well aware that this won’t ever happen, but what I surely can do is listing all the shops within my reach and share them with you.
